Do you feel stuck, hitting a wall, or like your guitar is just gathering dust in the corner? I’ve been there. For years, I felt frustrated, burnt out, and buried under excuses like work and family. YouTube tabs and traditional boring books weren't cutting it; guitar felt like a chore rather than a passion. Then, everything changed. A substitute teacher threw out the rigid lesson books, asked me what I actually loved listening to, and taught me my favorite song—Master of Puppets by Metallica. Suddenly, the guitar opened up into a world of creativity, improvisation, and pure joy. With over 22 years of playing, touring Australia and Japan, and releasing multiple records, I’ve built a teaching method designed to give you that exact same breakthrough. What to expect: Personalized Lessons: We focus on the music you actually love to play. Real Breakthroughs: Break past frustrating plateaus and rediscover your passion. Long-Term Growth: Build a lifelong relationship with your instrument and reach your goals. Contact me today, let’s navigate the challenges together, and make you a guitar hero!

My lessons are fully personalised to suit each student’s individual needs, goals, and learning style. I currently teach around 30 students, all with different levels of experience, musical interests, and commitment to practice. Because of this, I don’t follow a “one size fits all” approach, each student has their own tailored learning plan and pathway. I keep separate progress profiles for every student, allowing me to track their development and adjust lessons as they improve. Whether you’re a complete beginner or more advanced, learning for fun or working towards exams, your lessons will be structured specifically for you. Each session follows a clear and practical structure. We usually begin with warm ups to build finger strength and coordination, then move into technical exercises to improve accuracy and technique. From there, we focus on songs and musical pieces to apply what you’ve learned in a real, enjoyable way. This helps students stay engaged while developing both skill and musical understanding. At the end of every lesson, I provide a simple and clear practice plan so you know exactly what to work on and how to practise effectively during the week. My goal is to make sure every student not only improves but also understands their progress and feels confident in their playing.
